Jon Bernthal and Ebon Moss-Bachrach are both making their Broadway debut in a high-stakes adaptation of the beloved 1975 film “Dog Day Afternoon.”

The play, directed by Joe Wright, is a stage adaptation of the 1975 film of the same name, which was based on a true story. The film follows two men who rob a bank in Brooklyn and take several hostages, leading to a tense standoff with the police.

Bernthal and Moss-Bachrach are both well-known for their work in film and television, with Bernthal starring in the hit series “The Punisher” and Moss-Bachrach appearing in shows like “The Punisher” and “The Punisher: War Zone.”

The play is set to run for a limited engagement at the Cort Theatre, with previews beginning on April 5 and opening night scheduled for April 17.

The cast also includes Michael Arden, who will play the role of Sal Naturile, and Danny Burstein, who will play the role of Detective Moretti.

The creative team includes scenic designer Tony Walton, costume designer Ann Hould-Ward, lighting designer Natasha Katz, and sound designer Steve Canyon Kennedy.

The production is being produced by Scott Rudin, Eli Bush, and Eli Saffy.

Tickets for the play are now on sale and can be purchased through the Cort Theatre box office or online at Telecharge.com.
