Café Tacvba, a Mexican rock band, has asked their former labels to remove their music from Spotify. The band cited ethical concerns over the platform's past campaign with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and the use of artificial intelligence (AI).

In a statement, vocalist Rubén Albarrán said, "We don't want our royalties and the money they take from us to be used to sponsor wars and other despicable actions." [3]

The band's decision comes after a widely criticized campaign by ICE to recruit border patrol agents through Spotify ads in 2025. [1]

Café Tacvba's music has been a staple of the Latin music scene for over two decades, and their decision to remove their music from Spotify has sparked a debate about the ethics of music streaming platforms.
