The straight-edge metallic hardcore band Excessive Force have announced their reunion with a performance at FYA Fest 2026. This marks the band's first show in 30 years, following a hiatus that began in the mid-1990s.

The band was based in Orange County, California, for a few years before frontman Dan Gump went on to record with Decontaminate and leave the scene altogether. At the time of their sole album release, 1995's In Your Blood, Gump was an aircraft mechanic in the Marine Corps, which complicated touring plans.

In Your Blood was reissued a bunch of times since then, most recently by the French label Knives Out last year. The album's reissue sparked renewed interest in the band, leading to their reunion.

Excessive Force's reunion show at FYA Fest 2026 will be a significant event for fans of the band and the hardcore scene. The festival takes place on January 11, 2026, and will feature a lineup of notable bands and artists.
