Women's Body Awareness
Women are sharing the totally normal things about their bodies that they wish someone, literally anyone, had explained to them in their teens.
According to a recent article on [6] BuzzFeed, women are sharing their experiences of body awareness and the things they wish they had known earlier in life.
Menstrual Cycles
One of the most common things women wish they had known about their bodies is the menstrual cycle. Many women reported feeling confused and overwhelmed by the irregularity of their periods.
'You're only supposed to lose about 5 to 80 ml of blood during your period!' said one woman. 'Having to dump out your menstrual cup multiple times a day is WAY too much!'
Body Hair
Another common theme was body hair. Many women reported feeling self-conscious about their body hair and wishing they had known that it was a normal part of being a woman.
'I used to think I was the only one who had body hair,' said another woman. 'But now I know that it's totally normal and that I'm not alone.'
Puberty
Puberty was also a topic of discussion. Many women reported feeling confused and overwhelmed by the changes they were going through during puberty.
'I wish someone had explained to me what was happening to my body during puberty,' said one woman. 'It would have made me feel so much more confident and prepared.'
