Audi, Porsche, and Volkswagen (VW) have issued a major recall of over 500,000 vehicles in the US due to a rearview camera glitch. The issue affects the rearview cameras of certain models, which could fail and cause accidents.

The recall affects Audi Q5, Q7, and Q8 models from 2020 to 2022, as well as Porsche Cayenne and Macan models from 2020 to 2022, and VW Atlas and Atlas Cross Sport models from 2020 to 2022.

According to CNET, the affected vehicles were produced between November 2019 and December 2022. The recall is expected to start in February 2026, and owners will be notified by mail.

The rearview camera glitch is caused by a software issue that can cause the camera to fail, leading to reduced visibility and increased risk of accidents. The issue was first reported in December 2025, and the companies have since worked to resolve the issue.

The recall is a major concern for drivers, as the rearview camera is a critical safety feature. The companies are taking steps to address the issue and ensure the safety of their customers.
